Proposed Talk Title: "Engineering surgical practice through cloud-based technology at the confluence of radiology, physics and informatics."
Abstract: A versatile cloud-accessible high-performance computing, remote visualization, image processing and biomedical engineering environment is invaluable for both early technical feasibility assessment studies on novel medical devices as well as in virtual deployment of medical device technologies, on a patient-specific basis. The key innovation behind my Sun Yat-sen University - Carnegie Mellon University Joint Institute of Engineering research group, The MeDCaVE (www.justcallharry.com), has been to apply techniques traditionally used in aerospace and internal combustion engine modeling, to the heart and vascular system in order to make way for cutting-edge medical image analytics that enhance cardiovascular disease diagnostics, surgical planning and naturally extend to real-time intra-operative guidance. In this talk, I will go over cardiovascular and orthopedic applications of The MeDCaVE's technical competences while laying emphasis on the bridge to translation of these technologies to the clinic through our spin-off company, QuantMD, LLC.
Second opinions and medical technology solutions for the Patient.
We offer timely and accurate image processing of radiology images for clinical care, research, and training.
