Traveling through Israel

A mere mile or so from the Gaza Strip, today I made an inspiring visit to a school with bomb-sheltered classrooms dedicated to education in social work (policy and law mostly). Their goal is improving the quality of life of the people in the community by 'listening' to them and helping them "access their rights". — at Sapir Academic College. This form of education is quite far removed from science and engineering but as far-reaching and impactful in my opinion as a life-saving surgical assist device or biomedical imaging technology. Such social work is what truly affects the changes for the good around us and it was a deeply touching experience to learn from the experiences of the numerous motivated social workers in Israel.

Welcome to the social workers word in Israel. Sometimes feel here like Don Quixote, but certainly people with vision (anyway as students), and strong will to change the distorted at the society. Work challenging, fascinating and sometimes frustrating too (complicated - the policy change from the 1980 from socialism to "liberal" (Capitalism) make it harder and with that came the creativity and more challeng :-) ).
Academic learning is certainly different from what u know, as one who complete undergraduate degree in education and later a BA and now the MA in social work, but despite various definitely has a focus on research. Recent years, there is certainly more inclination to do more and more qualitative studies not less then the quantitative studies.
