Summary:
In this study, we employ a novel shape analysis approach (Adhyapak S.M., Menon P.G. et al., Interact Cardiovasc Thorac Surg. 2013) to quantify regional left ventricular (LV) endocardial motion in 7 heart failure patients who underwent surgical ventricular restoration (SVR) by endoventricular linear patch plasty (see EVLPP: Adhyapak,S.M, V.R.Parachuri, EJCTS 2011. 10.1016/j.ejcts.2010.09.023). We hypothesize separate regional wall motion analysis of the pre-op LV aneurysm territory, post-op SVR patch, as well as remote myocardium can establish the inherent nature of diastolic dysfunction in SVR candidates and determine contribution of the SVR patch on post-op wall function.
